“We'll see. I can take care of myself,” she said, but secretly she was a little afraid because she was going into the enemy's home, and she only had herself and Monty as protection.
When she first saw the village she was surprised at how normal it seemed. She didn't know what she had been expecting but they looked just like her people, going about their daily business, although the reaction she received was completely different from that which she got at home. There she was greeted with smiles and hugs, here she was met with wary glances and sneers. People barely paid her any attention, although they were quick to go to their friends and whisper to each other, no doubt their whispers were about her.
“I don't like this,” Monty said, sidling up to her.
“It'll be fine, let's just keep out of their way and I'm sure they will keep out of ours,” she said, then stepped forward to fall into step with Liam.
“You'll stay in my home. I have prepared rooms for you, and I will find bedding for your escort too. You will be safe here, you have my word on that,” he said, and led her to his home, which was similar to her father's. Along the wall of the main chamber there was a list of all the chieftains who had led the tribe over the years, and as he gave her the tour he told her about some notable ones. He also had a study, much like her father, and he showed her some of the books that he had collected.
“This one is the most important one for the tribe, as it lists all the achievements and history of the chieftains, marking them down in history so that they will never be forgotten, and this records the battles they fought in and won as well, and all the wars that were waged. I suppose time is yet to tell what will be written about me.”
“I'm sure only good things,” Allison said, and stood so close to him that their bodies were pressing together. She felt a strong attraction to him and once again found herself wishing that Monty wasn't there. Monty was getting bored with all the talk of history and books. He was looking around at the ceiling, lost in his own thoughts, so Allison took the opportunity to clasp Liam's hands. He squeezed back, and she felt happy.
Not long after that Liam left them to themselves, after arranging a dinner for later that night. Allison went to her room and splashed some water on her face, then changed clothes, reflecting on Liam and her thoughts about him. He was well-spoken and knowledgeable and she was starting to think that her father had been right. It was so easy to fall for him, but that gave her pause for thought because it almost seemed to be too easy.
There was a knock on her door. She opened it with an excited smile, hoping that it was Liam come to surprise her, but to her dismay it was only Monty. Her face fell with disappointment, and she regretted that because Monty had seen it too.
“I thought I'd come so we can talk about what's going on,” he said. Allison welcomed him in. “I have to say I don't like this. We're here in his home. We're basically prisoners.”
“I think you're overreacting. We came here by choice, remember.”
“I think you should ask to leave. We can see how he reacts. He may not let us.”
“You're being foolish Monty. I'm not going to play any of these political games. We are here in good faith and I intend to keep it that way.”
“We should be here to gather information about their tribe, we can see how many of them there are, what their defenses are, we will never get an opportunity like this!”
His words incensed Allison, and she rounded on him.
“I don't know what you think is going on here but I am fulfilling my father's request, and I am considering a husband for marriage. That is the only reason, and you are only here because Donal suggested it. Now, I would appreciate it if you did not come to dinner tonight. I would prefer to dine with Liam alone,” she said. Monty began to protest but Allison turned her back to him, and banished him away. It hurt her to do such a thing but she could feel the distance between them widening, and she was beginning to understand that their friendship was not going to last forever. She could feel how disappointed Monty was with her, but she had to do what felt right by her own heart, and that meant seeing Liam alone, finally.

The dinner was a lavish affair and Liam was once again the consummate host. The chamber was wide and the candlelight provided an intimate atmosphere. The food was delicious, as was the wine, but Allison wasn't sure whether it was the alcohol or the company that was more intoxicating. She couldn't take her eyes off Liam and all through the night she imagined what it would be like to have his hands run over her body, to have him hold her so intensely, to feel the heat of his kiss and everything that followed. It made her squirm in the chair and she felt so young with him, so innocent, and she wondered if her mother had felt the same when she and her father had been courting.
“What's your opinion on love?” he asked. The question took her by surprised, and she paused as she considered her answer. There were two ways she could have answered things, either she could have told him what he wanted to hear, or she could have given him the answer she felt.
“To me love has always been synonymous with pain. I've seen how my father loved, and how losing that love left him missing a part of himself. I suppose I've always struggled with the idea that love can be worth all that strife. Not that I am opposed to it, I think until I experience it I will not be able to give a perfect answer. What are your thoughts on love?”
“I think it's the most wonderful thing in the world. I think it drives people on and gives them the strength to do things that they otherwise would not be able to do. I also think its binds us all together, and if we all focused on love we would be happier. That's the problem between our two people. We forgot how to love.”
“Do you even know why the conflict started? I have never been clear, and nobody has been able to give me a satisfactory answer. It seems that we fight because we are used to fighting, and that has always seemed odd to me.”
Liam took a long gulp of wine and licked his lips as he set the glass back down upon the table. He leaned back in his chair and stroked the ends of his beard.
“To be honest with you I'm not entirely sure myself. I've had the same experiences as you. There have been a number of explanations. Some people say it's due to a territorial dispute, others that you stole something from us. Do you want to hear my favored explanation?” Allison nodded. “I think it was love. I think there were two men that loved the same woman. She chose one, and the other couldn't handle it so he wandered through the forest and founded the tribe, and his hatred festered, and it spread through to all the people that came and lived with him. Whether he founded my tribe or yours is up for debate, but that is always the story I have liked the best, and it's the one I am going to tell my children, if I have any,” he said.
They continued talking into the small hours of the morning, until Allison's eyes began to get heavy and she found herself yawning. Liam escorted her back to her room, where they said their goodbye, although neither of them wanted to leave the other. Allison rested against the cold stone wall and she looked up at Liam with wide eyes. The hunger that was festering in her took hold of her, and she wanted him more than ever. The alcohol had lowered her inhibitions and she wanted to be close to him, to feel his body against hers. All her natural desires were simmering to the surface and finally they were able to kiss. He leaned down and his arms slid around her waist, drawing her in close to him. She could smell the wine on his breath and the masculinity swarmed around her. His hands tightened around her body and she melted into him. He leaned down and engulfed her in a fiery kiss. His lips were hot and tender, the kiss was firm and passionate, and the sensations overwhelmed her. If Liam had not been holding her in his arms she would have collapsed to the floor, for her knees were weak and her entire body trembled.
His tongue thrust into her mouth and the heat rose around her, making her mind all hazy and dazed. She lost all sense of her surroundings and as far as she was concerned there was only Liam and the kiss, everything else fell away in tatters, as though o
nly she and him remained, and in that moment she began to understand what Mary-Margaret had meant, and why people fought so much for love.
When Liam released her the balls of her feet fell to the floor with thud, and she hadn't realized that she had been on tiptoes. She was reeling, and when Liam turned to leave she wished that he would stay. She opened the door with a wide smile on her face, when a steel blade swished through the air, striking out at Allison with fury.

Allison shrieked and ducked, and thankfully she reacted just quickly enough that the blade flew wide of its target and slashed against the wall, making sparks fly. Allison fell to the floor, fearing for her life. Liam leaped forward and tackled the attacker, using his strength and momentum to set the assailant off balance. They struggled against each other for the sword. Allison looked up at the two of them fighting, and willed Liam to emerge victorious. The young chieftain grunted as he strained and pushed the would-be assassin against the wall, driving the air from his lungs. Again and again Liam repeated this move until he was able to get a better grip of the sword, and stole it from the hands of this invader. Without a moment's hesitation Liam twisted the sword around in his hands and ran it through the attacker's stomach, scarlet blood oozing out. Liam pulled the sword away and the limp body sank to the floor, the look of surprise and shock still on his face. Liam had a surly look and he cursed as he turned to face Allison, still holding the sword in his hand, blood dripping down the edge of his blade.
He was about to rush over to make sure that she wasn't wounded when Monty entered the scene, having been alerted by Allison's screamed. All he saw was Liam standing over Allison with a bloody sword.
“I knew it!” he yelled, and stormed into the room thrashing his sword around. Liam had no choice but to defend himself. What Monty lacked in the skill of riding horses he more than made up for with swordsmanship, and it was fortunate that Liam was a gifted fighter as well, else he would have been cut to ribbons quickly. Allison tried to yell at Monty to stop but her words fell on deaf ears. The fight left the room and went back into the hall where Liam and Allison had dined. Allison dragged herself off the floor and followed them, scrambling to maintain her balance.
The steel clashed and the two men grunted, while Allison yelled for them to stop. Monty unleashed the full fury of his frustration upon Liam, and seemed to be getting the upper hand, when suddenly an arrow whisked past her ear and lodged against a chair. Both men looked at it, and then back at Allison, who was wielding the bow, and panting heavily.
“Stop this. Now,” she said, drawing another arrow and readying it on the bow. Monty clutched the handle of his sword and clenched his jaw, but as he stared at Allison he knew that he was not going to win, and the sword hung limply down.
“That's better,” Allison said, and then proceeded to fill Monty in on what had actually transpired.
“I knew that my people were not fond of the idea but I did not think they would go to such lengths. I would not be offended if you chose to return home, where you are safe. Perhaps there is too much history between us to make a brighter future. It is a sad thing to admit, but that's the way it seems at the moment,” Liam said with much sorrow.
“No, I don't believe that. My father doesn't believe that, and neither should you. We can make the future ours, we just have to trust in each other and in our people, and I know now that I want to make the journey with you Liam. I want to make a better future for our children.” Liam dropped his sword and the widest smile appeared on his face, a smile that was mirrored on Allison's. Yet Monty still stood in between them. He had the look of a man with a broken heart, and Allison hated to see so much pain on his face.
“I'm sorry Monty, I know that you would like us to be together, and perhaps if this had been the past then it may have been. But we need to look to the future. Our people needs this marriage to Liam, I do too. I can't explain it, but when I look at him, when I'm around him, I feel alive in a way that I never have before.”
“I understand. It's how I feel whenever I'm around you,” Monty said, his voice hollow and empty. Allison felt her heart swell for him.
“Do you still require my services Allison? If not I request that you release me from my duty. I feel like there's a better life for me somewhere out there,” he said. Allison assented and gave him his freedom.
“Where will you go?” she asked just as he was about to walk out of the entrance to the hall.
“I don't know yet, but I hear that the world is alive with adventure. I think I'll go and find some.”
“Don't worry about her, I'll keep her safe,” Liam said.
“You'd better, or I'll come back and I'll kill you,” Monty said in a calm tone, and then he left.
Allison felt a moment of sorry for the departure of her best friend, for she wasn't sure if she would ever see him again, but then Liam rushed up to her and enveloped her in his arms, peppering her with kisses and she was overwhelmed by his love. They clung to each other and their passion overflowed. They moved over to the table where Liam placed his hands around Allison's waist and lifted her up on the side. They kissed more, as she pulled away his clothes and let his tunic fall to the floor. Her hands ran around his stocky, hairy body, feeling all the rippling muscles and the beating of his heart. He caressed her body and squeezed her tightly, just enough to cause a little bit of sweet pain to course through her. He pulled her top over her head and suckled on her breasts, feeling the nipples harden in his mouth. His hands moved down the side of her body and rested on her thighs, so close to her burning desire. Her own hands ran down the middle of his body, until they rested on his hard, swollen bulge. She gasped as she felt it, and when she pulled away the rest of his clothes and saw it waiting for her she was filled with a primal need. She leaned forward, bending down slightly, to take it in her mouth and pleasure it with her tongue until it glistened with her saliva.
He groaned and moaned and she enjoyed feeling his body tense under all the pleasure she was giving to him. His hands moved around her head and became entwined with her raven hair. Her naked body was his and his was hers. His arms reached down around her bent body and found the space in between her thighs that brought so much pleasure. The new sensations flooded her and she was completely at his mercy. He brought her head up and kissed her deeply as he curled his fingers in her, finding her previously untouched sweet spots. Her entire body shuddered and writhed and soon enough his fingers were slick with her juice. He grunted as he withdrew his hand and pushed her legs apart with his knee. Their eyes locked and she was filled with excitement as she knew what was coming. Allison wrapped her arms around his neck as he leaned over her with all his dominating strength and plunged his thick, hard erection inside her, getting so deep that she thought she was going to be torn in two. Her back lay against the hard wood of the table and her eyes stared at the flickering shadows of the ceiling, before they closed under the force of the pleasure, and she escaped her own mind and fell into his, the orgasmic energy rippled through her and her skin glowed with pleasure.

Description: Rose McDougall didn’t want to be pushed around by her brother. He had told her the night before she would be married. She didn’t like this and knew that if her father was still alive she wouldn’t be where she was right now. The next day she runs out and gets caught in a storm.
Catan McCloud was enjoying his time in a cabin he had built with his own hands. Away from everything and the clan wars that waged every day in the Scottish Highlands. But there was an odd event and soon he was out in the forest and had found a young girl. Fearing she might die, he got her inside and got her warmed up. The girl was out for days before she finally stirred. Waking up he finds out her name is Rose and that he loves her. The only problem is that they don’t know each other. The fact is they may be natural enemies due to the clan wars. But it didn’t matter to Catan had known how he felt.
He wasn’t sure about her though.
Rose McDougall didn’t know why everything was going on in their lives, but she wanted to get away from it all. She had snuck out to get a horse and head to the woods. Maybe she should have had her brother come with her. But the fact was that Alick got on her nerves. He was two years older than her and he thought he knew it all.
Rose was 18, but she figured she knew enough about life to not have her brother try and control all of her decisions. However, on the other hand she understood why Alick tried to do it. Their father had died last year in the war with the McCloud clan and Alick felt like he had to make sure Rose was kept safe.
Alick did the same thing with their mother as well. Today though Rose had simply wanted to get away from it all and forget about the war and the world. Going to the stables she had taken out her favorite horse Buttercup for a ride.
She had snuck out because she knew that Alick would do the same thing as any other time.
“You can’t go out for a ride alone, what if the McCloud’s spot you? Or one of the other clans who feel they can get some money from us by kidnapping you? Can’t you think? Why are you so selfish?” Alick would chastise her like every other time she had tried to go for a ride alone.
No matter what she would come up for as her reason to go out, he would shoot it down. So today she had taken him out of the equation. Instead she had waited until he was busy with something else and found her way to the stables.
